My fishing mate, Andrew and I fished the Northern end of Mud for a hald dozen squire and a 660 mm Snapper. Christened the new rod and reel I brought of Jason Comino from the Northside Marine Stand at the Tinnie and Tackle Show a couple of weeks back. An 8 ft live fibre and a Shimano Baitrunner 6500, thanks Jason, it worked a treat on the snapper. It was a nice day to be out on the water and even nicer to come home with a few fish.
Cheers Reevesy.

Hi Peter and Brent,
Regarding your questions.
Fished from 5.30 am through to 12.30 pm. Caught a couple of squire early in the piece, went quiet when the run slowed, picked up again when the tide started in. Shifted 3 times due to small squire and heaps of grinners. Found a patch of wire weed in about 23ft of water on the last shift. This spot produced the snapper (see pic)and a few more good squire. Also caught a big cattie, I thought they had left the area a couple of weeks ago, must be a few still around. If you have ever fished that part of Mud you would know it doesn't run to strong, and therefore you can fish with very little lead, sometimes none at all. We usually fish with whole fresh squid and WA pillies, but this time I only had frozen squid from a previous trip and some pillies, but the fish didn't seem to mind. Caught the snapper around 10.45 am. Thanks for your interest, we hope to be fishing outside tomorrow in Andrews 5.7m JBS if the weather is okay.
Cheers Reevesy.

Hi Good catch mate, me thinks Mud is in for a bumper season this year, with so many legal squire around at present, the bigger ones are coming through, by you have to pick the time and tide.
Come may i dont think you'll be able to move out there.
Not a bad way to christen a new outfit ;D
Bloody catties, still arund we land or pete landed a 5.5kg one on sunday night, had him puffin by the end of the contest ;D.
regards
