G/day all decided to take my rig out the passage and get me some dolphin fish. Headed out about 5.30 am hit the passage about 6.00. Having never been over the bar thru the main channel ( only been up the inside at amity ) decided to follow a charter to locate the main channel no problem. Headed to the rock group at the look-out so much for a calm morn it was blowin 15 knts from the sw and there was some xos swells comin thru so had enough by the time we hit boat rock and decided to troll and drift around the point and the group picked up some nice size parrot and some small mack tuna so headed back about 11.30. Had a couple of good things happen on the trip back got a little lost and missed the channel and ended up inside the second break just off moreton, while i was finding my bearings i guy came up to us in a bush n beach cruise craft and give us a run down on the trip in which made it a lot more simple restores my faith in fellow boaties when he just took it upon himself to offer some advice ( who ever you were thanks for that ;D ). The other thing was i recieved a call about 2.00pm today from VMR raby bay wanting to see if i was safe seems when i logged off who ever took it forgot to tick me off so we both had a laugh and as he said AT LEAST WE KNOW THE SYSTEM WORKS ! So all in all was an interesting day.

CHEERS RAY ;D

P.S took some shots of a couple of big swells that came thru ! :o

Big seas and little boat eh Ray ;D
By the time you lot are finished at the buoy, there wont be a Dolphin fish left in the southern seas :-X
Say by the description of the rig that helped you, it was Bill Corten.
Couldnt get sounder advice from a better man.

rakinray ,
I'd have to agree with Webby it sounds like it was Bill in Reel Affair . He takes offshore Bar Crossing & Fishing courses through South Passage Bar .
