All right no smart comments, enough said
went for a run today, tryed a drift over a regular spot for a flattie or gummy, drifting at 6 km, was nearly sailing, couldnt hold bottom in 10m with big snapper leads, give up and come home to the fire

Hi joe
Cradle mountain is a truely beatiful place with some wonderful scenic walks, sadly though it claims lives because people underestimate mother nature, in summer it can be sunny for weeks and then within minutes it can be blizzard conditions
I am thored out now and just pigged out on scallops
cheers

Hey Blaze - I hope those scallops were yummy Tassie ones and not "thawed for your convenience" crap they try to palm off to us at the supermarket ;-)
I've been toying with the idea of buying a place in Tassie (around St Helens) although hafta admit whilst I can get a dream property down there, the cold is the one thing that makes me chicken out (live in QLD at the moment)

Blaze,
Finished off my last batch of Tassie scallops in the freeser just last month. Only got two crays and a couple of flounders left.
We (Leanne and I) did the Overland trip from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair about 3 years ago now. One of the most excellent things I have ever done in my life. Absolutely amazing how the weather can change in a matter of minutes.
Only two weeks before us the hut log books recorded a group of people stuck for 3 days because of thick snow. IT WAS THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER.
Tassie has it all - but the fishing is still better up here Blaze - if only we had crayfish!!!

Blaze,
Jetstar are having a sale that finishes in 3 hours time that have Hobart to Brisbane for $99.00 each way. $200.00 return on that weekend, I will even pick you up from the airport, take you down the the M&G, take you out to the Pin that you hear about all the time. Can't beat that offer.

Maybe we should define "cold" ;) My definition of cold is not being able to wear shorts, t-shirt, and thongs comfortably outside in winter. Are you really sure I won't get cold Blaze? ;D (what can I say - too long in QLD and your blood thins out) ;D
Hmmm Bugman brought up a really good point with the crayfish though... :P
