The dreaded old rule about northerly winds seems to be in everyones head. I personaly think its total bull. I may agree slightly that a northerly can effect fishing if it has been blowing a solid northerly for a week but as for only a day or two or SE turning NE i dont see a difference. Looking at my log book i have had some of the best trips in northerlys. Anyway hoga sounds like a top trip and a good variety of species caught. You just proved the thoery about northerly winds ;)

If you are talking Barwon, and the Mooloolaba area, my experience is not the n ne wind that shuts the bottom dwellers down, but the current, have found when he current runs downhill, so does the catch rate, what you think?
cheers

Hi guys,
Does this wind direction and speed have any impact on land based fishing along the coast? If so what are the best times to fish around Brisbane & Gold Coast.
