Hello fellow ausfishers and guests,
Barry and i headed out from Manly boat ramp this morning at 5am bound for a fish in the Rouse........Conditions were perfect as we crossed the bay with a light S/W at our backs.
20 minutes later and we had our first baits soaking.
Barry hooked up on a 39cm small snapper which went into the esky of ice and i caught several fish but not quite the 35cm ones.
Sun up and the bites slowed down so we headed over to Harry's to see what was around.....We anchored up in 16 metres and sent some whole pilly baits down......more just under legal fish went back one after another.
11 am and we call it a day as most other boats had already left Harry's.
Now this is when we get our catch of the day!!
Barry started to retreive the anchor but he did not get very far as it was stuck fast to something down there.
I said pass the rope around to the side of the boat and we will both put our weight into it.......Gee we tried and tried but she wouldn't budge....ok one more go as we had been tugging on the rope for 15 minutes without success.
finally we started to lift the ocean floor..lol
Another 15 minutes and we had colour......not 1 but 2 anchors and a big one at that!!
Arms stretched and backs about to brake we then pulled in 3o metres of chain..(i measured it)
If someone has lost an anchor at Harry's and wants it back you are more than welcome to take it off my hands.
I would say it belonged to a large yacht of some sort.
One less obsticle for you people to get snagged up on..lol
Hope you had a great day out on the water today.
Cheers Brent

looks like she has been down there for a while with all that groth on it :P
now all you need is a bigger boat to go with your new anchor ;)

30 minutes to drop it back down again guys.........IM SURE THERE,S PLENTY MORE DOWN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vertico maybe i made you more pinnacles pulling that anchor up.
I heard most of the stuff down under was being covered over by sand.
Todays effort should have given the bottom structure a shakeup..lol
Basserman ..under that groth is a perfectly good anchor......just some surface barnicles and shells to scrap off.
Jaybee...I would have dropped it back if it was rusty.
Will put up a pic when i clean it up mate........you may want to buy it for your boat.......guaranteed never to come adrift..lol ;D
Cheers Brent
