g'day all this is my first post. was told about ausfish and thought it was a top site so i joined up.

Left mooloolaba at around 1:30am sat morning. First 10km were perfect then we ran into a 10-12knot sw which made the next 35-40km out a bit of a slog. Decided to fish the top of the banks for a while as we thought it would be a bit hard to fish the outer ledge in those conditions. 1 1/2 hrs produced only a few small squire around 40 -45cm and conditions were improving so headed to outer ledge. First drop was a 5.5kg snapper. Fishing was solid with snappery squire and pearlies coming until about nine when squire went off the chew and couldnt get anything but pearlies which we had already bagged out on (15) the best going around 3kg so we decided to pull the pin with a great run home at 48km/hr.
Final count was 15 pearlies, 11 squire/ snapper and a moses perch. Some pictures hopefully attached below.

Ducks Guts -

Read some of the other posts on the Barwons. It seems Saturday day was the go. We were 12 hours too late and about 20km south by the sounds of it.

Maybe we should tag along next time.

Nice haul

That is a very interesting story ducks gutts. I was stuck to the computer screen. That reminds me of the time i was fishing in my next door neighbours damn and i hooked the biggest marlin i have ever got. It bounced up and down up and down. Anyway cut a long story short, it was a big marlin who moved very fast.

I fish out of a hollow tree lodge. i have 2 old palm branches for ores. I might catch you out in the deep some time. Woman love my boat, they like getting prickles in their ass.
Keep up the fishing boys.
My boat can be recognised with "LONG ONE" writen on the side.
