Hey Fatty, I have not fished out of Mooloolabah for a while but we always used to head south from Cartwright down towards Currimundi reef and would usually get heaps.

Fatty,
there are a few spots, but they aren't as well known or reliable as the bait grounds off the seaway. Make sure you always have your GPS turned on when travelling and mark good bait schools as they may be there next time.
There are patches off reef all along the shark nets off Alex headland and all the way to Caloundra. Check along these - about 10-12 m deep. You should also be able to find some patches of bait around Murphies and Currimundi.
Check around the Raper Shoal and off Currimundi Lake. There is always the NW3 and NW fairway off Caloundra too!
Cheers,
Jeremy

best spot for yakkas in winter is the shark nets at mooloolaba and close in at point cartwright. for slimies you will want to look out a bit wider. As jeremy said search around murphies (head SSE from the blinker for about 2nm ;))
