Gaday thrill seekers.
had the luxury of havin the grub on sleepover last night, so got the wife up early for a tailor fish.
just went to narrow neck reef with everyone else.
wife didnt want to venture too far because she was feeling a tad off colour.
fishing was a little slow, seas were perfect, would have been good to go a bit farther a field, but was not to be. so pillies in hand we fished away. the tailor were few and far between.
managed a feed, with 5 Tailor, 2 bonito, 1 trevaly, 1 small shovely. dropped a couple fish . there were a few bigger fast things wizzin round in the water but on takers.
nice day on the water,
Nice to see the fisheries out and about checkin catchs and safety gear. my Epirb is dew restamp, and flares up for replacement :-/
but thats boating.
no pics wurth posting this time.

what a nice morning it was off the gold coast this morning beats being at work anyday
good to see that you atleast got a feed and a bit of variety cloud_9
i was also out there this morning aboard bk's charter boat enjoying the great weather and plenty of fish, total catch for the boat would have been to many tailor to keep count of as everyone went home with a good feed of them and as many were thrown back ( as bob would say no good keeping them just for the sake of it if they wern't going to be eaten )
2 trag jew of around 46 cm, several keeper flathead also a lot of under size bream and squire,
we were also greeted by fisheries back at the jetty to check on the catch, was funny when the guy from fisheries was checking the fish and had to be corrected by captain bob and the guy’s fisheries partner about the correct legal size of the trag jew, you would think that he should know the correct legal size of fish if that is his job.
the swell wasn't to bad this morning rakinray but i beleive the conditions were due to change late this afternoon

Fishing on "Fair Dinkum". Late start, probabably only on water at 8 or 9 - headed to a spot in 83m. Bit of bait but only pulled Red Bullseyes and Pinkies. Kept trolling north and found two small shows on Spot X. Got a few liveys and fished them there. First run was on the higher line with the sinker. Russ on strike and tagged 80-90 odd kg Marlin Monroe wrote down as a Striped. None of us got a good look at it. Were on it for about 45mins on 24. I was tagging and tagged it then looked up on leader. Bent the hook and fish got off before positive ID. Took one strike that must have tangled around the bomb for instant wipeout then another that we weren't sure what species we were on but which turned out to be a Mack Tuna which we tagged. Few other runs and bustoffs on the bait jig kept us busy all day. Pulled the pin at 5.00.

And Monroe did pretty good with the end of year trophies. Other top achievers were "Andiamo", "Colorado" and "Castille".
