hello guys well for those that have been following my last couple of posts i thought i would try the coast again to see if i had any luck.Hunted for livies every where yesterday and couldnt find any ,i tried the beacons in the seaway and even the rock walls trying to jig some livies but :-[.Today i took a diffrent approach got the gps co-ords for Scottish Prince but it was not there :-/.I have in the past come accross it when the swell was small so i didnt gps it in.But with the biger swell and dirtier water i couldnt find it and the mark i had was useless ,dont know why someone would post a bum steer for the scottish prince.Any way went to the artificial reef off narow neck and....more livies than i have ever seen before, every drop i had a livie on most hooks,at one time i just dropped the jig and felt the tap of the livies then smack the rod was bent and the drag screaming after fighting it for a couple of minutes on one of my lighter rods i pulled in a bloody mac tuna that hit the livie on the line and at the same time entangled himself in the other hooks so more bait once again.Went out wind died down sea was perfect ,went out about 12km found a nice bit of bottom and water was bubbling all around me floated out 2 live baits and dropped 2 live baits .......nothing action all around them but nothing.Moved in closer and droped a 5 gang with one side of the mac tuna on it then showed my mate a new knot i learnt next thing my rod was screaming but i was too late and missed whatever it was.Through the course of the day found that livie fillets did a hell of a lot better than pilchards and squid we had. Most fish caught from other anglers were being caught on closer reefs rather than out wider.
