I just had to sneak out yesterday with great weather (equally good today but I'm busy). Heading NNE. The red tide was thick out to Havanah Is with no bait fish on the surface. Kept going to Palm Is to watch the flotilla of small aircraft landing every few minutes - must be something going on there!!??

Water a little murky. Trolling nothing. Bottom bashing 20+ gold spots in a couple of hours. All around 30-35cm. All went back.

Otherwise a pleasant way to spend time out of range of the mobile and kids.

Whiteman thought you would like to know my cousin caught some whopping fingermark in Halifax Bay last night I think this is close to you because it is not far from Phantom Island I think

Devocean, good luck to him. I'd love to have a crack at the Palms at night as I reckon the fishing would be awesome but it's a rather hairy place to motor around in the dark with bombies coming up from 15m to near the surface in a few places. There were a lot of schools of small fish around. I didn't fish real smart as I stuck with pillies when I should have gone after a few fusiliers (plenty around) and then after coral trout. Live 'n learn.
