We just got back in after an awesome, but frustrating day out from moreton. The grand total for the day was 6 strikes, 3 hookups, 2 tags (all black marlin around 20-25kg) and one mashed wahoo lure. The day started off at the trench, where we then worked our way round to hutchies, dropping one on the way. We then got a double hookup, one on the wahoo lure which is now minus its hooks and the other on a skip bait which was tagged after nearly 45mins. Working our way south towards the cape we then tagged one more in 4mins and dropped another three *CHOKE*! the action was all over and done with for us by 10:30. Unfortunately we finished the day witnessing another boat gaffing a small 15kg black marlin, much to my dismay.

Overall a fun day

well done [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

and yeh , it was a wicked day on the water ...the weather report didn't give me much confidence , but was quite delighted myself at how calm it was out there !

cj, it wasn't a black it was a 15kilo dolphin fish! on 4kilo(you circled us at a respectable distance to watch the fight)
#i hope that eases your "dismay"lol.
#we went
4-2-1 on blacks(released)on 6kg, 1-1-1 on a good hoo on 6kg, 1-1-1 #rat yellowfin and 4-2-2 on good sized dollies
#i called many of the dollies "blacks" myself as the colour of them due to the fresh run out made them look black with silver flanks with blue tails and pecks- instead of the usual yellow with green fins.
#it was a great day for the first troll session of the season for us fellas. yes the little blacks were a bit hook shy today(hooks ups rates on 4kg with trolled lures for billys aren't real good), but thursday is looking very good!

haha righto sorry damon, we stayed away so not to cut you off. Pretty good display for a dolphin fish (made me think it must have been a black) and good boat/rod work to have it in so quickly on 4!
