??? Headed out rather late ( i know it should of been early) crossed the bar at 7am trolling skirts from there out and out comming back over all the marks i have , a few mac busting the smooth waters and a few unidentified jumpers making us feel great about the day ahead. Not to be and by the looks of the few boat out there they were having the same frustration as we did. After abit of bottom bashing we tried the slugs at a rather large school of small mac's and bonito but they to had no interest.
All in all 3 strikes nil caught , but a brilliant day on the water and will hopefully pul the fish this weekend while your all up in 1770.
Cheers
Michael

Michael,

How did the fairlane go towing the Rib Cracker ;D

I can't beleive that no or few tuna are being off Straddie at the moment - that's the second report I know for no fish.

When I get back from 1770 we'll hook up for a trip - if I'm not sick of catching fish ;D

How's the outriggers going?

Hi Bret,
Been meaning to catch up for a beer and some snooker ;D noticed you had a gathering of sorts the other night.
No didnt tow it with the fairlane dont want to strain the original gear box , Jim towed with his Range Rover.
Yeh only a few mac's around very strange oh well it was nice to be out while most of the population was working ;D bar RICKTA and the other fellow who hooked that nice Snapper!!
Outriggers !!! yeh no hope on that one yet other toys to consider before them namely a car although i will ask for your opinion i think the she has had them running off the top before.
Yes am seriously considering heading up to HB this weekend but i have also been asked to fill in on the comp on Sunday (maybe) as well Ray and i have been talking about a day out for sometime.
To you and all have a great time up there ,when are you heading off.

I spent Friday last week out there and found it pretty quiet also. Went out to the wave rider buoy and found zilch. Not a fish to be seen. The current was raging from Pt Lookout through to the buoy. Saw all those Mack tuna - well Jellybeans anyway. Got one nice spaniard and a feed off the bottom on the rough ground between flat rock and boat. Sorry about the headless fish, had to fit it into the esky.
