gaday all
The roads trip got shortened somewhat as the new owner of the boat we were delivering decided to meet us part way.
Home Hill just south of Ayre.
after the paperwork was compleated we were off
stoped at a creek that crossed the Highway 20K's or so south of Home Hill where i had seen slashing on the way up, mate was the first to cast in while i was riging a lure and he's on 1st cast , we were hopeing for Barra but they turned out to be Tarpon , by the time i got riged up and were talking about 40-50 seconds he had his second fish on the line, talk about a hot bite.
i finaly get my shot. cast and hook up, 3 in a row spat hooks and lures flying back at me, bloody hard mouths on these fish. mate got his 3rd fish and that was all we could get they would just mouth the lure and let it go soon as you put presure on the line.
i also got the biggest birds nest in my bait caster ive had in years ::)
thats what i get for not useing the line a couple times else were first :(
but you get that .
we moved back to mackay and fished the harbour rock wall for and 1/2 hour or so before finding somewhere to stay for the night. that shot session got me MY FIRST Mangrove Jack ;D
Yehar.
be it just bigger than the lure by a mm :-/
but beggers can't be choosers, still my first.
thats all we managed to fit in with the hours of driving.
we left beenleigh at 8PM friday night arrived at home hill at 9:30 am saturday.
drove back to serina to stop for the night, left serina at 5:30 am back home by 3:30 this afternoon. some trip :o
