G/ day all had to pick up the boat from workshop after 2 weeks of work and a stack of cash so decided to do a bay run on the way home. Left whyte ramp at 10.00am and found top conditions on the way over to the sandhills, came across some schools of little macks with the odd longy thrown in but i think they were just enjoying the day also. We headed to the beacons and found then all but deserted, and no run at all so droped a couple of lines in and tried to spin up a few doggies but it was dead. Headed sw towards mud and found heaps of schools of macks, but they were very spooky you had to let em come to you so we had some fun spinning up a couple of them for bait. Moved out a bit further to find some very small schools of spotties, some groups only had a dozen fish in each, we managed to pull half a dozen nice size spots amongst the sharks that were having a ball eating what they could ! Nice to get a feed and test the boat at the same time, didnt have the digi on the boat but heres a couple of pics of the days takings !

Gaday ray Iwas out aswaell today but not in my boat.
i was in Castaway 2 with Wayne Kemp and his Son Scotty.
i aim was Long tails but they prooved few and far between. but we did have fun with the macktuna to 4kg's.
wayne got a few on fly as did scott. i was just sluggin it out as normal, 20 gr raiders doin the business on a 4kg spin outfit.
i managed 5 macktuna and at harries a school of tailor poped up and we had a tripple hookup on these borderline legal fish, all good fun, the 10-15 was late as usual with a perfect day till 11:30 when we pulled the plug.
heres a few pics from my trip as well.
i didnt see u out there ray but its a big place the bay.

na not really roota i was a passenger was nice day for a drive.
the macks and 2or 3 long tails in each pocket of surface action kept us entertained.
there were some big long tails in with the macktuna, id say 10 to 15 Kg's.
and i did get bitten off once by something toothy.
and the best part i didnt have to clean my boat ;D

Gees 10-15ks you'd need a harpoon on the front not a motor :D
Would've been interesting for the boys on fly if they'd of hooked up!
There must be some fish out there with a dose of heavy metals.
I wonder how many fish are caught with other peoples slugs still in them?

Mark, I would think they get thrown very quickly, you take the pressure off a longtail the hooks fall out very often, there mouths tear quiet easily in the fight.
Ask tim about the flys its crazy stuff, almost madness.
