Only action seen were schools of prawns flipping about 5am, one Dolphin and one large ray leaping whoopy. The other bloke who was there was good to chat to at least.

Sorry to sound negative, but you should've tried a different spot after 2 hours or so. Also try to get your hands on some live bait.

The other 1/2 of the story, the really sad part, is that was the plan but I locked the keys in the car and had to wait till the sun came up to ring the misses for more keys. How sad is that.

Well sorry to hear you didn't get any fish but i have done worse with keys. I backed the boat into the water the young fella held it on the beach as i parked the car. Jumped out closed the door caught my shirt in the door. with the keys and stubbie cooler on the front seat. To early in the morning. It took the young fella 20mins before he relized something was wrong. mean while i was attached to the car. i ended up ripping the shirt.

many many years ago my uncle towed his boat to the ramp launched the boat parked the car then went to the boat. then he realized that he left the boat key at home. ;D
drove back home and put the boat away.
sorry to hear that your fishing trip wasn;t very productive elprez better luck next time.
