Hi Ausfishers
Spent the weekend camping and fishing at Broadwater State Forest just north of Ingham. Great spot with some basic amenities. Managed to catch my first freshwater fish on lures during the trip so I was pretty stoked. Landed two sooty grunters, largest at 32cm while walking through the creek a and flicking into the submerged timber. Casting to fish you can see is a real buzz ;D ;D
The water was freezing but once numb it did not matter. Sooties caught on a halco 1m diver in the xmas beetle pattern. Sorry no pics as I did not trust myself to take it into the creek with me. Both were released for me to catch them next time.
