Hi guys,
Fished Green last night for good results again. Caught 6 squire from 35-48cms and 2 tailor. Thats 6 keepers 3 out of the last 4 times I've fished there over the last couple of weeks, the time I missed was the night of the full moon.
I suppose to put this in perspective until recently my catch rate at green has been pretty ordinary so I will briefly explain the change of luck.
Firstly let me add not for one second am I trying to make out that suddenly I've turned into Rex Hunt, I just thought his might help you average fishos like me catch a feed.
Explore the area, Green like mud gets very busy but I can go straight to my spot and fish away from the crowd.
Keep a note of when you catch fish, believe it or not all the fish I have caught have been in a one hour block in the same relationship to high tide the time of day has made no difference. Actually the time before last we caught 12 keepers between us in this time.
Burley, If you don't burley don't waste your fuel. I bought a great Burley cage on Ebay.
Bait, FRESH. I buy my squid from fish shops cheaper than frozen bait, $6.00 a kilo from Action the other day. IQF pillies and live bait.
Hope this info helps a little.
Cheers Wally

At least your still a true fisho, getting sick of all these Bait to Plastics converts who reckon they now cant stand the smell of bait on their boats. ;D
Might have to start a rehab clinic for them ;D

Hey Brian looks like i'm going to be the first person to visit your clinic..lol
Guess some of us are turning into plastic junkies...lol
Nah there will always be a place for bait fishing but i must admitt its alot easier cleaning the boat down after a fishing trip.
Cheers Brent ;D

Actually I'm in both camps, I love having a play with the plastics but I have been fishing at night lately. I took the sp gear with me and had a couple of casts, got a few touches but no cigars.

Well done I've fished around Green island alot but never managed anything of legal size, well except for one parrot which must have been lost ??? Reason I fish green is because it's usually a last ditch attempt before heading back to the boat ramp, after your report Wally I might pay a little more attention to it. Like you I have been looking to fish shops for bait rather the bait tackle shop. There is an Action supermarket close by so I'll have to check out what they have. Are you fishing at night?

Cheers,
Jason

Hi Jason,
Yeah the fish I have caught have been at night. Just my opinion but the tide seems more important than the time.
