At last the computer is working again. the hookup trip started slowly for us with a lay day on the first day (Friday) but Saturday was looking better with a prediction of 8 to 13knts. We left Auckland creek at about 4.30am for a uncomfortable 90 min ride out to Leachies( The home of big Grassies). Rods down and good parrot were being draged over the side of the boat. The total for the day was 15 parrot about 3kgs each and 3 grassies the biggest was 3.7kgs.
Sunday came with a better prediction of 5 to 10knts so the decision was made to hit the red ground, after about a 70min run in good conditions we were at the first mark the deckies were fishing and I started jigging for livies. Second jig resulted in 2 nice slimies their fate to be revielled later. Moved 500mtrs to another mark slimies over and almost instantly rewarded with a 8.8kg Red (gutted and gilled), then a huge smash off, no more slimies so down with a whip tail that never seen what hit him another red 8kgs. i lost another 3 before Old Ged managed to pull one at about 8kgs, not a bad effort for an old timer useing a solid glass rod and a alvey reel. We left about 11am for the run back in and down to the weigh in and I was rewarded with the best red for Sunday and collected $100. Does it get any better.

Wayne,
See how Ged's pic worked because there was no '&' in the pic name .... just call them all 'trophy_fish_1' ... 'trophy_fish_2' ... :P lol
Well done, once again. $100 is a good pay day when you're fishing. ;D

So tell me did you get to visit any of those wider areas - is that where the reds came from :-X

I wanna catch up because it looks like I'm heading to the banks this weekend ;)
