Hi All,
Headed out off straddie on sunday in a mates boat with high expectations as it was my first trip out that way. With the forecast being a bit off we headed across a lumpy bay and out through southpassage bar which after fishing off southport is a hell of a long trip. First stop WRB and some pillies were chucked over the side to see if any dolphin fish where about but there didn't seem to be any action so we headed to some reef not far away to bottom bash. Things started pretty slow but after a bit of moving around we found a nice rise that appeared to be holding fish. First drift over and bang everyone hooks up and the pearlies start hitting the deck. We repeated the drift a few times for more pearlies a couple of squire and a tuskie, made for a good feed of reefies and time to head home. The bar crossing on the way back was a bit rough with the big runout tide a the nor easter that had sprung up, but once in the bay it was plane sailing back to Manly.
