Tsunami aka Big Mal the Mouth and Lone Wolf finally hit the beach south of Brisbane chasing a feed of tailor.
The beaches were looking great with plenty of gutters and form. Winds were 5-10 knots E/SE with no real swell or sweep to report. Low tide was around 8pm.
Conditions were great but up til dark there were no fish playing the game. We were fishing a narrowing in a long beach gutter and it defied logic as to why they were not on the chew.
Tsunami went for a walk up the beach to find some action. He was just out of sight when that familiar agressive bite of a tailor took the bait.
Went home at 7pm with 9 fish in the bag. No other fish seen caught on the beach.
All in all a good quick assault, home by 8.30pm, given had to be at work Friday 4am.

GWH,
Ya missed a good session, ok yes we were south of queensland, a minor detail i overlooked. I recommend the Kingscliff Bowl's club for dinner, which was 50 mtrs from the action. Their 500 gm rib and bugs went down well afterwards although patrons frowned at our rather colourful odour and attire.
Are you free for a session this weekend?

I ate one last night, seasoned flour then pan fried in a little butter with fresh lemon drizzle at the end..

Yumm, the others went to my neighbour as even he has been asking me "Mal where is the fish?", looks like I got my groove back.

Bit of a drive, but it is nice water. Looking to stay a bit longer this time for bottom of the tide. Aggressive chew as well which added to the excitement.

mal what is that shiny, girlie thing under your name in a surf thread ....

mate a 500gm steak n bug combo at the end of a session beats a 500km walk & 500m swim like we did last week - christ it was a big winter tide.

For tips on the better quality Qld tailor stay tuned - as for a joining you for a session...
