Gday guys & girls
I had a detailed report on our fishing trip prepared late yesterday when we had a circuit breaker trip and I lost the lot . So here is a nutshell report.
left Manly harbour at 3pm Wednesday, spent the night behind the wrecks at Tangalooma . Kingtin you didnt get any big vermin , 'cause I got it all 5 large rays from sunset to 10pm.
Started fishing 4 am Thurs and boated quite a few xos yellow tail scad , kept a few for livies and a few for fillets.
Tried the reef at Cowan no touches for an hour so we headed to the Rous . Saw a good show the sounder but couldnt get them interested . A couple of drifts produced another big ray and a grinner.
Moved to myora for the night got a couple of monster pike on a lure in the lights at the back of the boat after dark and drifted one out under a float.
Same fish (now dead wholebait) went out while i prepared breakfast Thurs morning , hooked a 5ft shark (small mouth ridges along back) dont know the species ,it was released unharmed
My new Avet jx & Gary Howard reef runner 15kg stick have now been christened, I just hope the quality of the catch improves in the future
The bay was magnificent , the type of days you dream about
The vessel was a 60 ft cruiser built in houn pine, powered by a 175hp gardner: fully airconditioned 5 seperate cabins, magnificent vessel, just fully refitted, a privelege to be aboard
It may be available for charter in the near future.
Cheers Rando
