Hey guys,
Well, I didn't get the big snapper I told JB that I was trying to get, but we didn't go empty handed either - just!
We left Tweed about 5am and loaded up with slimies and yakkas. Drifted around 9mile for a couple of hours for no result with livies on top, bottom and floatlined fresh stripbaits. Nil!
Decided to head east looking for the 36s as I don't have any marks having moved to the Goldy a few months ago. (anyone who can help me with some gps marks for the 36s and the 50s would be greatly appreciated). ;D ;D
Anyway, I found half a dozen boats on the horizon and joined the drift party. We were in 62metres. After half an hour or so my slimy on the bottom got eaten. My new jig rod got a blooding doing something other than jigging ::)
I was quite suprised to find a samsonfish in the 7kg category hit the surface.
But to be quite honest, this was a very very quite day. I didn't see any boats getting any action.
Still nice to be back on the water after 3 months of being away.
Wes
