Yesterday morning I went out for a fish off our local river mouth. The fishing was on from the word go. I managed to get 8 snapper and a good pearly. Three of the snapper I caught were over the 3 kg mark and the pearly was about that too. The others I got were pretty average but still well better than legal.I was fishing in 23m of water and was about 2.5 km out. I left home at 6 am and got back with the fish cleaned at 10. Very happy Jan!

Gotta ask, what river is it that you can go out 2.5 km and get pearlies?
I have a 25km trip across the bay before I get to the outside!

Moz, I wont be specific, but its on the upper MNC NSW and has a hideous bar, only crossable when the ocean is dead flat! Pearlie was caught in 26-27 mtrs. Last summer, I didn't get over this bar for 3 1/2 months, too much bloody swell! Oh well, thats fishing! Oh, and I'm still in awe of the giant snapper, cobes, macs, big parrots, emporers etc. etc. you Qld folk catch! Cheers mate!
PS, the rule is 30cm. Thanks for your interest, guys!
