Did a trip to the banks with my wife Toni, Dad and Smithy on Monday. Fished the top end for a good mixed bag. Got some snapper, big parrott, pearlies, aj, yellowtail king, spangled emporer and dusted up a couple of times. Smithy got a parrott on a 300gram zest jig. Conditions were ok. Fish were not as hungry as in weeks gone bye.

Nice one Perko - I'm kikking myself - we were gonna go but pulled the pin on Sunday arvo - thought the wind was still too strong for it to come good by Monday, but it looks OK in your pics - DOH!!!

Ahh well. That's the game I suppose. Good on you for making the right call and getting into some good fish.

PS - what time did they bite hardest?

Bit sloppy heading out right on dawn as was to be expected after that wind had been on it for a couple of days. Stopped at the 8 mile for a jig and loaded up on liveys. Kept dropping out from about 1/2 way out and was oily on top all day till a little northerly started at about 4.00. Northerly got worse the later it got or the closer into shore we got till it was blowing a good 20knots on sunset.

Fish bit straight away then again from about 2.00 till we pulled the pin at 4.00.

Nice fish Perko :) That Spangled has got some weight in it. What depth did you get him in?

Cheers,

Yellow Sweetlip was in about 51m. Snapper took a bit of berleying initially then went off. Re-anchored a few times and couple of bigger ones came mid morning.
