Colin and I hit the bay before sunrise, and found it a little quiet, ended up with 5 to keep us happy.
Colin with the pick of the catch.

Well done webby, got a good feed there [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I hit the cape this morning very quiet on the fishing front as well with a lot of current still about. Managed a feed of squire as well.
A lot boats turned up as the morning progressed and hope they did better

Yes, things were a bit on the quiet side this morning. I did the Mud Island wild thing this morning. Got a few undersize Squire that were all released, but no keepers. Wind got up a bit, so I headed home about 0700. Not overly bad though, as today is my birthday and the Minister for War and Finance granted me a special dispensation to go and have a little fish on MY DAY. Things aren't all that bad after all...

Cheers,
NICK.

Quiet on the Plastics today at Mud Brian.......You caught 5 more than me...lol ;D
I thought it would be a good day to catch a few squire but was more like the dead sea out there today.
Bait schools just not around in big numbers.
We did see a school of longtails working but could not get close enough to cast before they went deep.
Cheers Brent :)

webby,
we fished shallow temp. and got 5 squire best 2.5kg, 3 samson fish around 6kg , 1 gold spot trevor, 1 king 4kg and a lipper around 5kg- 3p.o.b.
moved to hutchies at 11am and my steering box shot itself. so i put the gaff thru the hole in the steering plate and tiller steered her 100hp all the way back to spinnaker sound.
took 1.75 hours which was pretty good going under those circumstances.
i'm happy it happen in such good conditions, even thought we lost a half days fishing and failed to bag out after 5 consecutive to trips.
from what i saw the southern barwons in the late of night was the best shot for larger snapper.
we also got our 1.5 seconds of fame as dave downie took some shots of us boys at the ramp.
joe was very pleased with that!
:-/
look like the word B.O.A.T lives up to its name again! bring.out.another.thousand!

Where did you try Brian? I also dropped in at Mud on our way to the river for a slipping. I was in a 55' motor sailer trying to fish soft plastics. Only got a couple of undersized ones but it was good fun trying.

G/ day Brian seems you done better than most today ::) we had a shocker, outside the current was screamin and made life tough wide from P/L so we moved in close around the one mile and got nothing but sargent bakers and every weird reef picker on the planet. Great conditions to be out and Rob (Mackmauler) will be pleased to hear that we seen lots of garfish running for there life in big schools ;).

CHEERS RAY ;D A pic of the tough conditions.
