Met up with Cheech at the ramp at around 5:30 Friday arvo. Nice run out to Mud in the fading light in his boat.

Pulled up to Mud on the northern-ish side, and put some baits in the water while we waited for the sun to go down. First cast ended up with a small squire. Second cast, the same, third, etc, etc... Couldn't get away from the little buggers! So we up anchored, and went down the eastern side of the island. Anchored up near a few other boats (Ended up MUCH closer than we expected after the anchor wouldn't hold!!! :o ) and lines in. Cheech got one tiny bait fish, and that was about it. It was a bit choppy out there, and the sun had set, so we up anchored, and went to try one of the "good spots" ;D

First fish into the boat was for me, and it was a bream that went to 35.5cm! :D My PB bream by about 4cm, so very happy boy!!! Craig followed up with a nice bream as well, and we had dinner sorted! Filleted and into the frying pan (Then into fresh bread with pepper), and they disappeared very quickly!!! ;D

After that the bite shutdown, so we up-anchored, and went around to try a few other spots... Small bream was about all that was around. It was fairly choppy as well, so we decided after trying about 3 different places to go back to where we had caught the fish before.

The bite was back on, and we pulled in 2 bream of about 27cm (They look so small after a near 36cm one! :P ) so they went into the esky, and Craig also managed a 40cm Tailor!!! Then the squire started biting hard. Geez they pull alot harder than bream! I was using 6lb fireline with a 10lb leader on a light graphite rod, and they put up a good fight! I was starting to wish I had of brought my other rod with 4lb fireline and a 6lb leader for a bit more fun!!! he he he... The squire were all undersize (Except for one that Craig caught) but every one we caught was bigger than the last one...

Unfortunately they went off the bite after that, so we decided to head home. Back to the ramp at about 2am.

All-in-all a great night out! Cheech - You certainly have got those big bream sorted!!! Thanks alot for taking us out! 8-)

The Big Mumma! Sorry bout the ugly mug in the shot!

(I know it looks like it, but I promise we didn't gaff it to get it into the boat!!! It wasn't THAT big ;D)

The "Take Out" back at home...

Geez the water was clear out there as well... It was a full moon too, and was pretty bright. Maybe we wouldve got a few more if it hadn't of been...?

Just tell me when Craig! ;D

Thanks Phil! It certainly is a great feeling! I told Craig he should start up the "Cheech Charters" when we were out there! Apparently you're supposed to be quiet when fishing the shallows, but after catching that guy, I couldn't stop giggling! he he he ;)

Cheers Carleton! Why we don't catch them, I'm not sure, but after going with someone else, I'm thinking it might be you!!!! ;D ;D ;D :P HA HA HA!!! <Just kidding mate!>. We'll go chase something that would eat the bream for breakfast! :)
