Tuesday, another glorious day on the bay, total 1 mack tuna, 1 yellowfin tuna, 3 frigate mack, 6 tailor, 1 squire and a sweetlip. Ive got a feed and the bait freezer is looking good for the next trip.
One point of concern for me though was I was drifting over the Rous, it was a drift of 15 - 20 metres, a boat comes along side and drops the anchor 10 metres in front of me when Im going up on my next drift, Imentioned to the chap and his 2 mates they are more than welcome to jump in on the drift, the response " Im fishin here"
On my next drift I continued the same drift as per normal but this involved going within 5mt of his vessel and as you can imagine he wasnt happy about it.
I hope he reads this and realises that yes maybe he was an idiot full of arrogance showing off in front of his mates that day.
Till next time tight lines.

Ya should have quickly deployed your anchor just after he did. Sitting 10 mt behind someone will move them quick. Also curious, you say a yellowfin. Was that caught from rous also?

hey sackrash you run into some tools on the bay at times, just NFI. You sure the yellowfin wasn't a little longy? I got a 65cm rat in the bay on sat morn with a belly full of fat that looked like a YF. cheers Isaac

sounded like a good day out.. was stuck at work meself >:( :'(
Congrats on doing the right thing sackrash, that sort of behaviour is concerning. Wish those blokes the curse of not catching a fish forever!
Sounds like it was a great day, apart from that idiot.
I've had the exact opposite happen to me. I was anchored up at my spot x at peel from 4am and at about 7am some guy comes along and drifts on a collision course with me, jigging for pike. He passes within 3 m of my boat and after passing by, starts up his 200hp motor and proceeds to drive straight across my casting zone to start another drift. Needless to say, in 5m of water after his efforts the bite was off, so I moved to another spot.

Hey thanx for the support guys if any one can clarify for me if the LT,s get any dots like a yellowfin or not, having caught many yellowfin and no longtails now Im not sure, it had dots and yellowfins sure looked like a yellowfin and yes at mud isle it was about 3.5kg,s, the mack tuna was about 4kgs all caught on the small rod I use for SP,s for bream.

We've caught a few of each lately, and the longtails do have similar dots to yellowfin. The yellowfins are build a bit stockier and have a much larger (and longer) pectoral fin though.
here's a couple examples

Hey Im no expert but they are chasing a real small bait fish so I throw a 1 inch blue and white lure at them, the only rod I have light enough is my SP,s rod with 6lb it takes a while to get them in but its good fun.

My guess is that it is a small longtail. They get spots too, and have yellow finlets. Guess you don't have a picture, would make things easier...
Never heard of YFT inside the bay in that area, only up off Bribie...
