The young fella and I hit the water at about 5.30 this morning (27th) and threw plastics around Scarborough. The fishing seems to have slowed some compared to the winter sessions but is still good enough to keep us both busy.
The northerly was up pretty early and conditions were on the verge of being uncomfortable in a small tinny but not enough to spoil the morning. Things were a bit quiet until the start of the run out tide and then came the usual couple of throw back squire and the dreaded grinner or two. Ended up with 2 nice bream and a golden trevally. Another species to add to the plastics list! After a pretty decent fight on light line it came up a bit gill damaged so will become a meal of some sort.
Throw in a feed of good sized sand crabs and it ends up being a good couple of hours out on the water before the wind got to strong.
Couple of pics
Cheers, Derek
