I could not sleep last night because I could not wait to go fishing. ;D I got up at 2:30am and was at the ramp by 4am. Ya I know it was a slow start ::) First few drifts only got under sized Squire and no grinners. So I turned on the radio at 5am to listen to Nugget and then Wham. This fish pulled and pulled and pulled the drag was screaming ZZZZZ ZZZZ ZZZZ 5 minutes later a I boated a 62cm 2.8kg Squire. What a great feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The Squire must of liked the sound of Nuggets voice on the radio Thanks 4BC. ::)
I went for a quick trip to green as the bay was starting to flaten out. Frist drift I caught a smallish cod over 60cm which was released. I went back to Wellow one last time before going home and it was dead to much boat traffic.

What a day to be out in the Bay ;D
Thanks Duncan at Fishhead for the new setup it was so smooth.
I was using ZOOMS in baby Bass with 1/8th Jig which caught all of the fish.

Very nice fish. what lb line were you using?

Wish I got out on the bay today...

I was using PE 20lbs braid. With a 12lbs leader.
The PE braid is about the same diameter as 6lbs fire line.

Hi Steven, You have put alot of effort into the plastics the last few months and its great to see your getting the rewards.
Jim got his bag limit this morning on squire with the biggest at 55cms caught by his daughter.....good one Tania.
The Southern bay islands are producing some quality fish this time on the year.
Might see you out there tomorrow mate.
