Hi all,
Went fishing in Bribie passage on Saturday morning using SP's.We went fishing just after a stormy rainy front passed through, which seem to do nothing to the fish.We fished for about 4 hours. The fish we caught were sweeties, squire, flatties, rainbowrunner, grinners >:( >:( and to our surprise caught a stone fish :o :o Kept fishing but it went quite plus the wind started to pick up, so we went home.

The next day My brother Bonesy decides to go Gar fishing from our back yard. ;D ;DThe weather was terrible but they didn't mind one little bit. It was loads of fun to watch my bro pull fish after fish after fish in. We ended up with 19 gar. :)

All in All it was an alright day fishing considering the weather ;D

Great gar mate,

nothing like sitting on a pier fishing for gar wasting the day away, then finding the mouldy bread in your alvey bag a few weeks later ;D

Should make good reef bait

Great catch of Gar there mate.
I have used them for Tailor and Jewwies form the surf at Rainbow Beach in the years past. I used to spend my holidays at Boreen Pt, Lake Cootharaba when I was a kid. I'd fish the jetty at BP for gar or anything little I dcould get then take my grandads boat to Teewah landing and walk over the top to Rainbow beach and have a bit of a beach fish. ;D

hey they are also great to eat. I spent 3 years in Adelaide and when they first said they eat them I turned my nose up as well but when convinsed to try them they were actually quite nice. Laugh as you may but they are on a par with whiting.
