Clutter, hate to be the bearer of bad news but yesterday went from Vict Pt boat ramp to 4 beacons, jigged livies then proceeded to do all types of fishing from floating pillies/livies throwing slugs from 4 beacons to almost Bribie Island. Even tried to poke our head around Cape Moreton but soon decided to turn around. We saw bait balls almost 10 metres high on the sounder but not a predator in sight. We also jigged the bait balls and got plenty of slimies and other bait fish. Lots of birds flying around but not too many doing anything but floating. Saw about 2 patches of fish hitting the surface.

shes been a quiet start ...they were around early december in patches , but theres a lot of water between em
from the earlier reports from 1770 i would have thought we would be thick with them ....but WHERE did they go ?....its this global warming ..they're probably schooling somewhere off Tasmania by now ::) ;D

Ended up going for a look on Saturday morning. Pleanty of bait around and reasonable sized schools of smallish Mack Tuna. Was chasing after a school of big Tuna, saw one clean out of the water and looked very much like a Yellow Fin not a long tail, noticed some big arches on the sounder under the school so I dropped a pillie down and got munched by a 20lb Black King, was the only fish I got, and bite, for the day. My mate got a good schoolie and a mack tuna.
Great to be on the water though.
Cheers, Clutter
