after a very dismal few months casting plastics around the southern bay and rivers that feed off them, thought id kick back with a few live baits out the back under the stars and full moon..... still yet to nail one on plastics but scored this nice little schoolie on some live bait on th first of the run out and full moon last saturday night in 15ft of water. last night i backed it up with another on the slack in 12ft of water and also dropped a bigger specimen....very happy to be catchin fish again...both schoolies were roughly 3 kilo each..

Dane

They are good looking fish

When you say out the back can you elaborate?

Was there a heavy dew or just rain on the second night

It seems that a lot of people drive over the top of good fish to go out further and catch nothing. That's what I do all the time I'm sure

on the first night there hadnt been any rain but the river was still dirty the fish nailed some live prawns , second night it had been raining hard for two days solid it was raining hard all the way out but when we anchored the stars came out and the water was like a mirror, i just mean baits sitting out the back of the boat. i havent used bait in a long time until this last few trips i dropped a bigger fish which nailed a live herring.

If you have a 15kg standard for jew ....show us ?

Some of us have been chasing them for years and lucky to get into the double figures
I know a lot of good jew fisherman , and NOT ONE would call a 15kg fish standard !!! EVERYONE who targets jew would be ecstatic over a 15kg fish .

These may only be schoolies , but they are legal ...can't give a man stick over following the rules ...and whoopdy doo ...2 schools over a few days ...my god , he may endanger the whole stock :-X

FYI , Dane is one bloke i know who releases A LOT of fish..even legals, ...i should know , done most of my fishing in my life time with him !

hey rickraider keep mowin ur lawn and eating worms pal, cause when im lucky enough to catch a jew at 15kg (after a live photo) itll sure make its way back to fight anoyther day. maybe when u learn how to post a photo (basic fundamentals) u can show us some of these beautiful big breeding fish u been catchin.

ps .. if u got a good recipe for eating the worms maybe ill keep a big one too!!

There always has to be some half smart opinionated jerk who is quick to trash the work of others. They are very nice fish Jiggit and bloody good eating too at that size.
Rickraider, why trash someone else's effort just because you have a different opinion? At 15 kg plus I'd be bloody surprised if you've caught more than a couple.

Keep up the posts Jiggit.

Cheers
Dave

actually I read this as not that serious. I think he was just making a bit of fun?

Anyway, some nice schoolies there and I am sure with a few more trips and maybe come winter, you will get some bigger fish from the same location. Good luck

Rickraider

If your initial post was intended to be humourous, why the sarcasitic remark and the dejected smilies?????? BTW, in my opinion your photos are sus to say the least.

Cheers

some top jewies all round...........i hope however that this post doesnt turn into a she said you said thing..............its great to just be able to view some nice fish being caught recently and to share some top photos from the past..........obey the rules and there shouldnt be a problem..........no need to comment on big, small, long, short etc just appreciate that someone has nailed some great fish and been kind enough to show us some pics so we can all sit here and think to ourselves...........wow nice effort or not bad - i remember starting off catching ones that size or i remember i was lucky enough to nail a big one first up etc etc.............fishing should be enjoyable and telling the tales even more fun...............

ps cant wait to nail one 15kg and a schoolie..........i will never get sick of landing fish regardless of size

Billo,
don't lower yourself to his standard,
we are all well aware of your positive input on this site and your fishing attributes. No need to explain to us.
If he wants to be an idiot, let him be an idiot by himself.

cheers jeremy i sure hope i can nail some bigger fish as well , at this location im predicting they wont get much bigger than 6-8kg because of how far it is from the pin and how dirty the water is year round... ill keep tryin ythough
