Snapper - From Moreton Bay

Caught on the 30/12/05

Went out was very rough

Capricorn 1500 loaded with 4pound fireline - 12 pound leader

On an E Grell 2-4kg stick

Gulp plastic 1/6 tt head 15ft of water

Went 72cms 5kg

Had no control over fish had to chase it with the electric motor and hope for the best. ;D ;)

that is one fantastic fish there marty, which island did u nail him at. or was it over some gravel beds.

Top fish mate, and nice looking boat too. What sort of gulp were you using?

Great looking fish, well done. Can you give me some indication as to how far out you went in the "Mangrove Jack". More curious as to how the boat handled in the wind of today versus the model of boat. I have been looking at the Blue Fins for a while. Was the boat the 4.2m and do you get out on the bay in this regularly?

Got it on a small patch of reef off the eastern side of Mud Island
on a 6 inch gulp worm. There was about 1 metre of wind chop it was real messy. I had a 10 pound rig but didn't have a leader tied on. I get sea sick real easy so i didn't want to look down so i used the 4 pound outfit. :)
Needless to say i was stoked!

Ive owned the boat for 2 1/2 years and i am very happy with it.
Went to Mud 6km from river mouth.
Like any boat this size you get wet in rough conditions, but got me there and home safely, ive got a 3 cylinder 40 hp Yamaha on it.
Good for 50kph on smooth water ;)
