Hopefully it's not as dirty as the Lismore River is apparently at the moment. Lindsay from the Fishing/Gun shop reckons its not worth trying for bass as the river is nasty from the rain...
Bugger - I just bought some little fizzers! :(

went there last wed thurs frid sat. river was a shocker. choc brown. very little caught i believe. was told by the ferry operator that dpi were there daily and some type of level in the water had to be 7 and was only 2. evans heads was same. on sun morn a little colour appeared up near mouth. heaps rays around. fished rock wall at south ballina sun morn got 2 rays 1 bream. people beside me caught 9 in an hour. bloke in cabin next to me got 4.2kg flattie in surf at south ballina just down in front of park. it was a monster. water on front beach was dirty all the way to evans heads.lots logs trees and debrie in river. dead cow on saturday. brett at ballina bait said lots catfish around. still there were quiet few boats out there sat and sun. not for this little black duck. boat never got wet.

when the water turns brown always chance of a flatty of the beach near the mouth as all the mullet tend to head out as well as the big smelly ones.

Went crabbing last night and for a general :-/ sticky beak at the condition of the river. NOT :o so good, was around the ferry at low tide and it is vile. Heard a whisper that some pro dudes are looking at closing it down. Sadly, Id have :'( to agree. Any where below ferry only near top of tide could encourage :-/ me to go fishing, I suggest go for walk along the beaches or the ends of the wall.
Take care in the boat, still alot of prop bending >:( logs on the drift, soueasterly is pushing it along the north side of the river. I wont bother for at least a week , I hope??????????????????? brn-e-bass

Any up to date reports on the river down there? I'm finishing at Lismore today, so was thinking of heading down there for a night fish & sunrise fish...
Any good landbased spots anyone knows of in the area? Between Ballina & Tweed
