i was looking through my computer after a few technical issues of late and found these jack shots i had from the end of last year.
this was the first jack i caught this season it would have been in late october, my friend simon and i had been fishing all morning in currumbin creek, i had already thrown in the towel as it was about 8am but simon had a few more casts. he was getting a few hits so i decided to tie on a new lure. it was a pre-rigged shad about 3inches. i threw it out into the open water when probably one of the luckest fishing situations unfolded. about two twiches into my retrieve my rod just about got ripped from my hands. holding on tight the ten pound line poured of my 2500 reel for about 10 seconds before i could even lift my rack raider.
luckely the fish was way out in the open and had no where to run too after a bit of a battle the fish came my way not before a couple more attempts a freedom near the tree lined bank. once we saw the red fish simon jumped of the bank into the water too get the fish up the steep bank.
there it was the fluke of a life time a plump 53cm jack.
sorry for the long winded story
