Tried a few spots around sunrise this morning hoping for a few fish on the softies. Started out at a little spot along golden beach, where there were plenty of baitfish making noise but I didn't seem to be attracting any of what was worrying them. 1 serious fish bite and about 4 thousand mozzie bites later i moved up to the bridge near the military jetty. Fished with another fella here and caught a football sized toadie and a few moses perch. The other bloke landed a small bream on a prawn. From there I took a short drive up to the coastguard jetty. Only had a few casts but I'm sure this would be an interesting spot to try on the high tide instead.

hard luck mate. you can get some thumper jacks near that bridge just short of the military jetty. havent tried the coastguard jetty, but id imagine it'd be alright. good luck next time.

Joel sorry I could not get out with you, but it seem you found all the spots again.

Maybe next time as this week is all over the place for me trying to get this van sorted out.

Steve,
not a prob mate, was good to try the spots myself. I learned a few things too doing it that way. I'd hate to try that bridge in a strong wind, the guy I was fishing with told me its like a wind tunnel down that canal. Will definitely have to make myself a bait trap though, i keep hearing the word jack and getting all twitchy.

Cuzza,
Do you have to fish from the walkway at high tide underneath that bridge? We were on the rocks cause it was low tide, but I can't imagine there'd be standing room closer to the top of the tide. You'd probably need to side cast too to avoid the underside of the bridge.

Thanks fellas.
