Headed off from Whyte Island at 4:50am for Mud to look for some new ground and gravel patches to store in the GPS. I also took the pots to see if there was any sandies around with no luck there.
I drifted the eastern side and only caught 2 Squire and a Cod. I could see that the weather to the south was starting to look like it could blow up so I headed for the safety of the river. I fished the wall and the other side of the river from the wall I managed to catch 3 legal Squire the largest been 38 cm. Today I trip over my rods again in the boat and nearly broke my new G Loomas GLX >:( So when I got home I decided to fix the problem once and for all. I know this is a bit off topic but hay it’s related to the Mud trip today ::)
Parts needed
2m length of 40mm pipe cut into 6x 30cm sections.
6x4.8mm pop ribits
40mm hole saw and one hour to build it.
Parts cost under $25

see photo attached.

G,Day Steven, mate you did a top job with those new rod holders.
Seems like you had some fun with a few fish over at Mud.
Would have been better with a rising tide that peaked around 9am.
Next weekend weather permitting we might do some more exploring around Green.
Cheers Brent ;)

I forgot to mention that i saw alot of Schoolies around the markers near Mud. The area was black with bait the fish where not on the bite to much better food around. Well the good new is that the weather is looking good for the weekend
