Hey all.. I wouldn't normally report a slack trip but I have told a couple of people that i would report what i got so here it is:)
Me and a mate headed out around 7pm to get some livies/Prawns and whatever we thought would be a good bait! after about 30mins of casting (I think i will have to do it next time as my mate wasn't handleing the 21' net that well) we ended up with 20 prawns 3 BIG mullet, 4 tiny silver biddies and 4 winter whiting. Well we got to our fav living spot and set anchor, sent a whiting each down and threw a prawn on the bream gear to see what was happening. it would have been nearly an hour b4 we got our first hit and it was on the whiting.. 20seconds latter a 4 foot pike eel swam off with an expencive live hook:( this was pretty much the go for the whole night.. we got BUGGER all bites and when we did it was cr#p fish. count at the end of the night.. 2 pike eels, 2 catfish, 1 stingray and 1 15cm Moses pearch.
I think most of this was to do with the tide as it was quite low when we started. I think mornings are the go atm but i havne't been able to get outa bed early enough for a fish!! I am going to try tomorrow morning again fishing with lures and plastic, hopefully there will be a little more activity in the river!!
Cheers
