MACLEAY ISLAND - SHARKS + MIXED BAG

Went out earling Thurday morning to get to Potts Pt Macleay Island at 5am. First hour was full on - first fish after five minutes i thought was a massive knobby, to find out after 15 mins of fighting it was a 1 1/2 metre bull shark ::) ::) - Decided this one should go back as it was 1/3 the size of me boat! Got onto 3 just undersize squire, a catfish, a sole (i think) and later on in the morning was catching 20cm squid with squid :o - wierd! Managed two keepers - shovelnosed shark i think and a bull. Put the pots in only for one of them to get raided, and the others with no success. Those big sharks surely go hard!! All were caught on ganged hooks with whole pilchards. Was a beautiful day on the water!

great catches mate! is it just me or are there being more sharks caught resently?

seems alot of them around lately, we had em in the berley trail off redcliffe a few weeks ago
I used to eat em but dont like the smell anymore.
