well a little bit of a catch up for the last few weeks.......went to noosa river mouth about 2 weekends ago and fished all around noosa and the mouth for one flathead and one big fish that wanted to stop at nz......took about 300m of the alvey on live mullet.....shark again i think but big as there was not much quick runs and i dont think he felt the hooks.........anyways mate with sock tan got his first flathead on a lure........had just walked over to him after about 20 mins of him throwing the yabbie sp when he says there are no fish here then whack.........hes on to a nice little flathead..........that was it for noosa.

following weekend mate and i head over to moreton in hope of getting a good nites sit on his snapper ground........wrong.........weather a little ordinary out wider........fished tangas with poppers and both of us got hammered by a couple of nice trevors around 3kg mark. i had mine netted and he was screaming for the net as mine had its hooks still caught so i netted his fish with mine still hooked up in the net.......funny site to see..........not much else for the nite.......dropped one good fish near artificial and busted by what we believe was a shark at tangas..............

sunday just gone.....headed down to favourite spot at toorbul to chase some flatties....with pink stumpy tied i headed out and for an hour all i got was wet..........changed to pink yabbie sp and still nothing.......went back to pink stumpy and 2nd cast ........WHACK........... i got nailed by a estimated 85-90cm flattie...........estimated because my measure only went to 75cm........she was big and fat. you know she is big when her dorsal fin is peircing the water and standing 3 inches above the surface........anyways a couple of quick pics and away she went.........home i went after that content with a nice fish........

Some great pic's there, especially the big girl going back but you mustn't like the reel to much.

on my own and wanted pics so the reel had to go down.......nothing to put it on other than the sandy mud.........they get serviced after every dirty trip though.......

Great story and pics SU&F .. always a good read. I notice you had plenty of "release photos" of the big girl this time for the purists out there. You need to get a bigger measure too as you seem to catch your fair share of the big ones! ;D Mate you must have an understanding missus, you get to escape every weekend! Cheers

lonewolf....cheers mate.......yeah always got to put in the release shots if i can get them........i love watching them slip away and then when they are far enough they take off.........i try to capture the sequence

rob - mate i swear by the pink size 3 stumpies ..............only started using them the last 6 mths and unreal strike rate compared to other colours and other hardbodied and sp's....have been fishing alongside mates using other lures and outfished them about 3-1 i reckon........you dont know if you dont try
