Went to the sunken wall yesterday (landbased) trying to get a squire...didnt get much just a few moses perch up 25cm and lost something BIG tha ran into the snags..not sure what it was but im guessing maybe a squire? Was using squid, and went from around 4 till 6 30...was getting dark and forgot the torch. once the tide started coming in we started to get better bites. but then had to leave as we didnt want to get stuck and had no torch.

Have any of you guys fished here recently? How far do u go up the wall to catch decent ones? we didnt go to far as we couldnt be bothered walking.

nabs, was it the wall at pinkenba you are talking about? It's all pretty much the same unless you want to walk 2km to the end which I would not recommend in the dark. The best fishing is last 2 hours of run in and first hour of the ebb. Burley up, no weight and keep your bait in close and fish heavy so you won't miss the big ones.

nabs12,

bran, tuna oil and any fish scraps from last trip in an onion bag on a rope and it sits just below me on the rocks. They only need a sniff of it, I still want 'em hungry. Anywhere along there is fine, the tide and moon is important, it's good this week with run in tides til midnight ;) Best bait by far is live soldier crabs which can be gathered from luggage point a couple of hours before the low or fresh green prawns or worms.

Hey nabs, keep all your old bait and grind it up along with some sand, add tuna oil and bring it in a bucket with you next time you fish. Throw a handfulll in every now and then, it works wonders for bream.
