snapper at mud island, GREAT LT over at moreton is.Birds workingover tuna and mackeral in the northern bay and glassed off conditions and i fished the brisbane river this evening for a very quiet result. my son and myself set off about 3pm and fished till 7pm. very ordinary session with 3 squire biggest at 31cm, HEAPS of undersize bream and mosses perch but what about the catfish . sure they were lousy but what about the size of some of these monsters and on 2 kg. you certainly know youve struck one of them.anyway we still had a ball.Is there really such a thing as a bad days fishing? NO its just some days are better than others

Well I know for sure there are days like that where nothing seems to go right. Here is an example of one of those days earlier this year with Scalem. On route to Manly Boat ramp in the early hours of the morning we witnessed the demise of a mother duck and ducklings trying to cross the Gateway arterial road. After launching the boat we motored not 5 mins and the motor dies. It restarts and Scalem suspects he may have bumped the kill switch. We get to our spot and the result of a tummy bug Scalem caught forces us to retreat to Mud Island itself. We tried to head back to our spot but the engine suddenly loses a cylinder and just barely had the power to get on the water so we head back to Manly. We get out the tools and replace a plug and get the boat running half reasonably so we decide to try a spot close by just to try and catch at least one fish. We arrive there and wet a line for barely 5 mins and the tummy bug strikes again with a vengeance so we admitted defeat and headed home much to our dismay.
