First SQ Barra

Yep, it's been a world of first recently for me. Although I didn't get the barra myself, it was a real buz seeing this brute come over the side of my boat. My mate hadn't been fishing since the last time he went with me 17 years or so ago. Mainly cause he lives out of town now and only gets home for short visits.

Funny thing is that on the weekend we got the jacks (see my other post), I lost what I now suspect to be a good barra too. The barra measured 93cm and weighed 9kg. It took a livie too.

One more pic. What really astounded me was the power and speed of this fish. I had to ramp up the drag a number of times for Jaimie to slow it down and keep it out of the mangroves. Just fantastic :)
