G'day All. Thought I'd share some pics with you from a recent trip which resulted in my first SQ jack. We also got a few cod and two jacks in total. One at 44cm and the other at 48cm. All fish fell to live bait. The plastics got a workout too, with flathead, bream, trevors and few other bits and pieces coming aboard.

Regards,
Dave.

Heres my 48cm jack...

Sorry guys for the lack of specific location info. I have to respect my mate who clued me up to this spot. As a matter of interest, the barra on my other post came from the same location. The barra was totally unexpected, and we were chasing jacks again, but no jacks that trip. Not complaining though :)

Regards,
Dave.

You've gotta be vague on you jack spots mate. As soon as someone sees the red fish come aboard, that secret snag is no longer yours.......
Great fish and good photos
cheers

I don't think those photos are going to give away anything. Wouldn't hurt to mention a town.., I am sure! Nearest town even, if it's remote. Crikey, better not say what planet they came from!

goes back to the thread from a few weeks ago.... why post a report if you arent going to mention a location?

Probably because they want to keep their secret spots a secret. You don't see the offshore guys giving away GPS marks where they have nailed a heap of good Reds for example. I can understand that. Nice fish Alchemy.

no the offshore guys dont.... but they post "banks", or "cal wide". a general area.

i've caught jacks in the noosa river, yes i wont give away my spot.. but me saying noosa river gives people an area with me worrying my spot will be found.

Nice jacks mate, well done. I wouldnt tell the spot either, but the region should be OK. Its always difficult when its a mates spot. The barra is a fair clue.

I havent seen barra south of Maryborough, so you must be north of there, for those who cant work it out. Has anyone else seen barra south of Mary?

Yep, agree with Jeffo. Noone is asking for a GPS Mark or even a creek name. A general area is not putting your spot at any risk. Quite frankly, it doesnt bother me if Alchemy mentions an area or not, I am just saying that his spot surely couldnt be threatened by invasion when mentioning the general area.

Would any of you care if I said I caught a 15kg barra somewhere in QLD??? No.
Would people be more interested if I said I caught a 15kg Barra in one of my local creeks near Bowen (Bowen is my home town).

Not having a go at you Alchemy, it's your report and you can do as you wish mate.

Geez guys, I didn't mean to stir anyone up with this. If it was "my spot", then I'd have no problem giving the general area away, but as I said a mate put me onto to this spot and I will respect his wishes in keeping it to myself.

This was my first Ausfish report and was absolutely stoked with the fish so just thought I'd share with you all what fish can be found in a genuine SQ location.

Regards,
Dave.

it looks like your Photoshop skills are a bit rusty...I'm a graphic artist, so why don't you send me the original photos and I will do a neater job of hiding the background ;D ;D ;D

Marty,

Another first. It was the first time I had tried blanking out the background of a pic. Didn't worry about the ones on the deck of the boat though. Do they give you any hints :-?.

Dave.

PS, thanks for the offer of help, but unless I do these myself, how will I ever get good at it ;)
