I'm posting this again as it was lost with the Ausfish server crash.
Finally caught my first fish on plastics after trying for about four weeks. :D :D It was a 46cm flathead caught at the Colmslie boat ramp on Saturday night amongst all the crook weather. The only fish caugfht there all night with a few people using bait, so I'm getting converted to plastics. I was very excited and my mate was annoyed. He thinks he'll now invest in some plastics. I was using Gulp 3inch minnows in pumpkinseed with a 1/8 jighead and 1/0 hook.
PS I am still pretty excited and looking to catch more.

Good on ya steve0. The best thing you can do is leave all bait at home and just keep plastics on board. In the last 18 months have only had bait on board half a dozen times. That way you have to use them and learn more about how to use them.
Cheers

good on ya steveO congrads on that fish , when you said the colmslie boat ramp, i thought of the best bream ive caught come off that floating pontoon. it was a soaker and i didn't have a landing net so i swam it up onto some fellows duckboard on the back of his boat. there is some good fish around that pontoon, ive seen estuary cod and of course some nice squire caught of that pontoon and of course i wouldnt fish of that structure its illegal ;) ;)
