Went for a fish on the Logan this morning.
Pretty tough conditions, the water was brown from yesterdays rain and the SW wind was up earlier than I was.
When I hit the water at 5:45 the tide was in the last few hours of the run out - I tried a few spots with little luck and decided to have a bash up around the river mouth in an attempt to find some more fishy waters. This proved to be a good idea - first cast I manged to hookup a 32cm estuary cod. On my second cast I manged to hook a 54cm flathead - a stressful fish to pull in on 4lb line with 6lb leader.
Overall it was a good mornings fishing considering the rain yesterday. Nothing like fresh flathead for lunch. :)
For the plastics people out there I was using a 1/0 1/4oz Jighead with a Berkley 3"Gulp Shad in Rainbow (dynamite gulp imho).
