Dad (kingtin) and I went out fishing today. At first we went out to hutchies. Dad saw a whole heap of fish on the sounder so before we anchored up dad dropped a small bait jig down to see what they were and within 5 seconds he was hooked up, when he got the fish to the surface he noticed that it was a small Snapper, when we measured it it went 42cm.

Half an hour later dad noticed that we had drifted so he told my mum to pull the anchor in. When she got it in there was no anchor because the D-shackle must have came undone so we had to move into the bay at the four beacons.

For the rest of the day there was a dolphin continuisly getting hooked up on our big rods as ussuall.

We also caught about 30 yakkas and big herring altogether.

Cheers

I will post the photos later

Hi Jay,

I must have been trolling past you when you realised the anchor was no more.
That fish looked bigger than 42 cm.

Just remember a bad days fishin is better than a good days workin. (Starting to sound like youre old man!!!lol)

Cheers till next time.

Onya Jayjay,

You might want to get Dad to look at the thread in Boating Chat about ways to keep the D Shackle connected to the chain. Fishin' Dan had a good suggestion.

Keep up the good work, and keep 'em reports coming. You'll be driving the tinnie before you know it. ;)

Good luck,
Mike
