Had some good results with some live bait on the weekend and throughout my break. Run down below

Saturday 2pm-6pm Ross Creek - Live baited in a mates tinny for a catch of a +60cm queenfish caught on a live herring under the victoria bridge in the city, suprise catch in only 4 foot of water. Went nice in a green curry. Was an exceptional day on the punt too, backin winners all over the place too.

Monday morning at the mouth of the marina, live herring again and fought a monster battle for about 20mins on the rocks. Thought initially i had hooked my first barra, but 5 mins into the fight I thought otherwise. Massive sting ray finally surfaced and line quickly cut. Ugly stick was very impressive and i really put it to the test.

Tuesday morning - aplins weir. Live herring again and missed all solid strikes while i had the cast net in the hand. thought they would have been jacks too.

Overall summary - both hook ups were using my abu/ugly stick outfit, fished in free spool with the ratchet on. hooked up both times on gamatshu hooks 1/0's in the red. very impressed with that tackle and the results. no barra, but i saw some results and the drive is still there.

Great stuff,

That was what the fishing doctor ordered. After this rain, Aplins weir could be running and some barra should be around.

Well done mate. I want to try floating out some livies from the breakwater rocks in the predicted northerlies. Try the beacons in the channel. I want a queenie like you got. YUMMY
