Had a big day day on Sunday went first out to the redcliffe reefs and surrounding areas to try for some of these snapper that I've read about, there was a quite a few boats out there but didnt see to much happening, except 1 old bloke who hooked up a few couldnt see what they were though between me and a mate we landed 1 good bream and 1 nice whiting we then went around near the jetty and had a throw but got nothing ,pulled the boat out of the water at 10.30 to go to the pine me mate had a pie from brumbies in the morning that didnt agree with him so he bailed out and I was on my own so the boat was back into the water at 11.00 off to get some praws the place was packed cast nets every where just north of the bridge I was thinking this looks good but got the same story from every 1 ,nothing, got chating to a fella in a nice 5 m bermuda (I think )and he followed me up to castle hill it was the same there ,got to meet a few more fellow ausfishers 3 young fellas(name arn't my thing sorry guys )they were chasing jacks and trying sp,s and had done no good by the time I left that spot ,I stopped in again north of the bridge were the 5 meter was and he said they were getting better so had a throw there to get 1 and 2's time was running out for me as I started work at 3.00 ,1more last ditch effort at my favourite spot X,got to it at about 1.45 and the same story there for about 10 minutes ,then they came on in real big numbers 20 to 30 a cast ,unfortunatly I had work commitments and had to leave at 2.15 with a real nice feed in under half an hour (could have stayed at home for 3 hours after the morning fish but im to keen ;D) made it almost back to the ramp and my motor started to cough, splutter and wouldnt go much over idle so a slow trip 4 the last 500 m to the ramp (cause, carby had vibrated loose )I will be heading out there again Tues arvo after work about 4.00 to try get me some more.Dont know what it is but ive been eating these tasty bugger for a month now and just dont get sick off them :)

I forgot to mention persistance pays off, by the time these came on only 2 other boats were still trying to get into them .

Lucky you got in on Sunday mate, there was 3 trawlers working Monday so I didn't even bother with the net. Lots of gulls working behind one so I went across his stern to have a look.........tiny trevors floating and being picked off! :'( What a bloody waste!

Ended up with 8 huge jennies and 3 keepable bucks in a 3hr session. Only wet a line for 10 minutes (resulting in 1 bream) as I wanted to keep the pots moving till I hit on the crabs. The little feller (kingcobe) never missed a rope and was great at hauling in..........start 'em young ;D

My Uncle Fred died of asbestosis - it took six months to cremate the poor bugger.

They can be hard work sometimes but worth it. Can't beat them fresh.
