I wanted to take the Wife out for a fish to show her how it’s done :). Got to Wellow about 5:30am and spent an hour there without a bite so we headed to Green. Tammy and I were there only for a few minutes until Tammy hooked to something small. We caught 10 undersized Squire in the first half hour. Then all things went mad I managed to catch 3 Squire around 35-36 cm which I had to throw back. Tammy yelled out I had a big bite, She started to reel in then she got smashed 3 minutes later. She landed her first legal squire “42cm” not bad ha. We only stayed another hour or so as it was getting hot. We bumped into Brent and Jim and told them that Tammy out fished me.
Brent, Jim and I headed out from Manly about 5:30am for a wonderful ride out into the bay in perfect conditions for boating. We went to Green, Mud, Green, Wellow, Green in that order. Jim and Brent caught the first two fish early at Green both around 37cm’s. Things started to slow down so we headed to Mud which was not much better. We only caught a few undersized fish there squire and a small Flathead . We got bored with this location so we headed to Green and that’s when we started to have a better time, undersized Sqiure was been landed and released by everyone on the boat. I had one hell of a run and got bitten off. I lost my fair share of jigs at this location due to I don’t know maybe big fish? I landed an undersized Schoolie then about five minute later I landed my first keeper of the day. Then a few minutes later I landed another. Brent Jim and I then drifted over a patch of small flathead. We decided to head for Wellow then back to Green without success so we called it a day and with our four fish and sunburn we headed home.
Many thanks Brent and Jim……
As you can see from the photo that’s one happy girl.
